Rideshare Week is October 4-8
Rideshare Week will be held October 4-8, 2010. Rideshare Week is a nationally recognized event held to promote alternative commute choices, including carpooling, vanpooling, taking public transportation, walking, teleworking, or bicycling to work. 

SuperLoop celebrates one year of service
The SuperLoop bus route reached its one-year anniversary of interim service having carried more than 872,000 passengers — easily reaching its first year projected ridership. The north University City bus service was launched on June 15, 2009, with a goal of carrying 675,000 passengers in the first 12 months.

Need a taxi? Call 511.
The SANDAG traveler information program, 511, recently launched a new service that connects the public directly to taxi dispatchers when they call 511 and say, “Taxi.”

Study details teen arrestee drug use
More than half of the juveniles arrested in San Diego County in 2009 tested positive for at least one drug, with marijuana use on the increase, while methamphetamine use declined, according to an annual study conducted by SANDAG.

SANDAG Board selects route for Trolley extension
At its meeting on July 23, the SANDAG Board selected Light Rail Transit Alternative 1 for the future extension of the San Diego Trolley from the Old Town Transit Center to the University of California, San Diego and University Towne Centre.

July Board of Directors meeting actions available online
The next SANDAG Board of Directors business meeting is scheduled for Friday, September 24, 2010, at 9 a.m. Members of the public not in attendance may listen live to this meeting by accessing the "Listen Live" link from the SANDAG Web site home page approximately 15 minutes prior to the start of the meeting.
