From the opening of the last segment of the 20-mile I-15 Express Lanes to double-tracking the coastal rail corridor to the purchase of the SR 125 toll road, funds from the TransNet half-cent sales tax really did keep San Diego moving in 2011-2012.

Gas prices remain high in San Diego but you can take action to help reduce the impact on your wallet by carpooling or vanpooling, taking transit, riding your bike, or driving an electric vehicle. Special incentives now through May 31!
Call for projects: $8.8M for active transportation
Acting to implement its long-range plans to improve active transportation, SANDAG has put out a call seeking competitive bids for $8.8 million in grant funds to pay for bicycle and pedestrian improvements throughout the region.
Overall regional crime rates continue decline
Violent crime and property crime rates in the San Diego region again hit new, 30-year lows in 2011, according to the SANDAG annual regional crime report.
