Hoping to increase ridership by as much as 5 percent, the North County Transit District implemented a package of service changes and fare reductions on Jan. 20, giving San Diego County residents and visitors more reasons to ride in 2011.

Project phasing, funding reviews up next for Draft 2050 RTP
Work on the 2050 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) has entered a new phase since the SANDAG Board of Directors accepted at its Dec. 17 meeting the preferred Revenue Constrained Transportation Network Scenario for use in developing the Draft 2050 RTP.

In December 2010, Congress extended the Qualified Transportation Fringe Benefit so employers may continue to provide workers with up to $230 per month in tax-free transit and vanpool benefits for 2011.

Arrestee gang involvement report released
For the second year running, SANDAG has conducted a comprehensive survey of gang involvement among arrestees, with the data showing that about a quarter of people arrested in the region in 2009 had some form of gang affiliation.
