Single regional source of GIS data now available This GIS data covers everything from addresses to zoning and includes roads, property, parks, lakes, topography, census tracts, and dozens of other layers – more than 270 layers in 29 different categories. You will find official city boundaries, freeways and major roads, property boundaries, census areas and statistics, community planning areas, lakes, streams, business zones, and many other geospatial layers. The data are collected from multiple sources including the City of San Diego, the County of San Diego, the State of California, and the federal government. The data are stored as compressed "Shape" files (SHP). Metadata (information about the data) are provided in PDF format. Shape files can be read by many GIS and CADD systems. A complete list of available layers can be downloaded as an Excel or PDF file. Project Manager Tim Sutherland, Principal Research Analyst
