SANDAG exceeds goals for operating toll road
Sunday, June 30, marked the first anniversary of SANDAG having cut tolls by up to 40 percent on the South Bay Expressway (State Route 125 toll road). Results to date indicate that the toll reduction strategy is working: SANDAG is exceeding usage expectations and meeting revenue targets set as part of the strategic plan for acquiring the toll road.
Congratulations to Bike to Work Corporate Challenge winners
During National Bike Month in May, 64 employers in San Diego County competed in the 2013 Bike to Work Corporate Challenge organized by iCommute, the SANDAG Transportation Demand Management Program. These organizations encouraged their 91,000 employees to support bicycling as a viable, environmentally friendly, cost-saving commute choice.
Oceanside Transit Center improvement project
To keep pace with future demand for passenger and freight services, SANDAG and the North County Transit District will make track and boarding platform improvements at the Oceanside Transit Center.
Two workshops coming up on SR 94 project
Caltrans and SANDAG are in the planning stage for a proposed Express Lanes project along SR 94 and are seeking input from the public on environmental enhancement opportunities for communities within the project area.
Construction starting on Mid-City Rapid
On June 27, dignitaries kicked off construction of Mid-City Rapid – a high-frequency, limited-stop bus service between San Diego State University and Downtown San Diego via Park and El Cajon boulevards.
Regional planning workshop on July 19
SANDAG will hold the last of a series of regional planning workshops on July 19 as part of its effort to gather public input for San Diego Forward: The Regional plan.
