Residents invited to comment on the PPP
SANDAG is in the midst of updating its agency-wide Public Participation Plan. A draft copy of the updated PPP was released for public review on Oct. 26. Community members are encouraged to review the draft at sandag.org/ppp and provide feedback by sending an email to email@example.com, calling (619) 595-5610, or sending a letter to 401 B Street, Suite 800, San Diego, CA 92101.
Sand replenishment project continues
A $28.5 million sand replenishment project to restore eroded beaches throughout San Diego County has made great progress. Since the arrival of the Liberty Island dredge in early September, work has been completed at four of eight beaches that are part of the Regional Beach Sand Project coordinated by SANDAG.
Nordahl Road Bridge opening to traffic
The newly-rebuilt and expanded Nordahl Road Bridge will be fully open to traffic in November, helping to alleviate a major bottleneck around the interchange for SR 78 and I-15.
Last segment of SR 76 under construction
Caltrans and SANDAG started construction Oct. 25 on the final segment of a major capital project to widen and realign SR 76, fulfilling a long-standing regional priority to create a four-lane highway to meet travel demands in inland North County.

In recent months, SANDAG projects, programs, and staff have received tenawards for best practices in environmental preservation, marketing efforts, women’s leadership in transportation, and transportation innovation.
