Smart Corner - a smart growth success City College Trolley Station

Downtown San Diego is a lot smarter now that its innovative Smart Corner project — a mixed-use, transit-oriented development — is open. An event on June 27 celebrated the grand opening of the project at the corner of C Street and Park Boulevard. The new buildings feature 299 residential units, five stories of office space, and a four-level, accessible underground parking structure. The San Diego Trolley’s new City College station also opened between the residential and commercial buildings and is served by both the Orange and Blue Trolley lines through downtown San Diego.

Smart Corner is a wonderful illustration of smart growth — located across the street from the project are the San Diego City College and San Diego High School campuses, and it also is within a ten-minute walk of many popular downtown destinations like PETCO Park, San Diego Downtown Library, Horton Plaza, the Gaslamp Quarter, federal and county courthouses, and Balboa Park.
