Problems Viewing PDFs? If you are having problems viewing PDF documents, please check the list below for possible solutions before you contact the Webmaster:
- Latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader may not be installed.
Install it now.
- Internet Explorer 6 may need adjustments
- You may have your security set too high to display the document. To check if this is the case, check the browser you are using:
- For Internet Explorer 4.x
- Go to the Web page where you are having problems
opening the PDF file.
- Select the "View" dropdown from the top of the browser, then select
"Internet Options".
- Click on the "Security" tab along the top of the window
which says "Internet Options".
- The Zone should say "Internet zone" and the security level
may be set to Medium.
- Select the "Custom" Radio button. This will enable the
"Settings" button. Press the Settings button.
- Make sure that the "Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins"
radio button is set to either "Enable" or "Prompt".
- Press the OK button.
- Press the OK button on the "Internet options" window.
- Now, click on a link that has the PDF file that you were
not able to view before. Confirm that this works.
- For Internet Explorer 5.x
- Go to the Web page where you are having problems
opening the PDF file.
- Select "Tools" dropdown from the browser, then select
"Internet Options".
- Click on the "Security" tab along the top of the window
which says "Internet Options".
- The Zone should say "Internet zone" and the security level
may be set to Medium.
- Press the "Custom level" button.
- Make sure that the "Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins"
radio button is set to either "Enable" or "Prompt".
- Press the OK button.
- Press the OK button on the "Internet options" window.
- Now, click on a link that has the PDF file that you were not
able to view before. Confirm that this works.
Problem Reading the Text?
- You can increase the text size:
- For Internet Explorer 5 or higher
- Select the "Tools" dropdown from the browser, then select
"Internet Options".
- In the "General" Tab, click "Accessibility" located at the bottom to the right.
- Check the box "Ignore font styles specified on Web pages"
- Check the box "Ignore font sizes specified on Web pages"
- Press the OK button.
- Press the OK button on the "Internet options" window.
- Click the refresh button on the top of the browser.
- For Netscape Navigator
- Select the "Edit" dropdown from the browser, then select "Preferences".
- In the "Category" box on the left, click the + sign before "Appearance".
- Highlight the "fonts" text by clicking on the text once.
- Choose the style and size of fonts you would like to view.
- Click "Use my default fonts, overriding document-specified fonts".
- Press the OK button.
- Click the refresh button on the top of the browser.
