RB Transit Station south parking lot closed for slope repair

On Monday, October 3, crews began repairing a slope at the Rancho Bernardo Transit Station that failed due to heavy rains from last winter. To complete the repair, the station’s south parking lot will be closed for the duration of the project, which is expected to take two to three months.

The station’s north parking lot remains open, and temporary parking has been secured at LBA/West Bernardo Business Park, 16680-16690 West Bernardo Drive. Commuters are asked to park in spaces designated for the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) only.

Meanwhile, commuters also are welcome to use the Sabre Springs/Peñasquitos Transit Station and Park & Ride to catch MTS Premium Express Bus Routes 820 and 860 to downtown San Diego.

During the first several days of construction, commuters are advised to arrive a few minutes earlier than usual to adjust to the parking changes.

Notifications about the south parking lot closure have been posted at the transit station and on cars in the station’s parking lots. They also have been provided through Rider Alerts on buses that service this station.

For more information on the slope repair, call the project information hotline at (866) 890-1397 or visit KeepSanDiegoMoving.com.
