Rideshare Corporate Challenge: registration open through Sept. 26

October is Rideshare Month, when the San Diego region celebrates the many benefits of alternative transportation choices, such as taking transit, carpooling, vanpooling, riding a bike, or walking. Employers throughout San Diego County are invited to take part in the Rideshare 2014 Corporate Challenge organized by the SANDAG iCommute program. Registration to participate in the competition is open through Friday, Sept. 26.

From Oct. 1 through Oct. 31, participating organizations will receive one point for every eligible alternative commute trip logged by an employee using the iCommute online TripTracker tool.

Participating in the Corporate Challenge is a fun way for organizations to meet transportation, parking, or environmental goals. In addition, employees who try alternative commutes can save time and money, reduce stress, and qualify for weekly prizes drawings. Prizes include a new bike, Car2Go memberships, and San Diego Zoo/Safari Park Day Passes.

Participating organizations will be eligible for free services such as  on-site bike education programs and financial fitness classes for employees. They also will receive a free eToolkit with promotional materials and incentives to encourage employee participation. In addition, participating organizations can earn points toward the new Diamond Awards recognition program.

Corporate Challenge winners will receive recognition in a print ad in a regional newspaper, on the iCommute website, and on SANDAG social media; a commemorative plaque; and mention in a SANDAG press release.

For more information, visit 511sd.com/iCommute or call 511 and say “iCommute.”
