TransNet is the half-cent sales tax for local transportation projects that was first approved by voters in 1988, and extended in 2004 for another 40 years.

A half-cent countywide sales tax that helps fund regional transportation projects.
Funds habitat-related environmental mitigation activities required to implement projects identified in the Regional Transportation Plan.

Regional Bike Projects
Establishes a network of regional bikeway corridors and proposes programs to support bicycling as a practical means of transportation.

Highlights the 650+ highway, transit, bike and pedestrian, habitat conservation, local street repairs, and grant programs and projects that have been completed with funding from TransNet.
The TransNet Extension Ordinance requires that the SANDAG Board of Directors conduct a ten‑year comprehensive program review of all TransNet projects and programs to evaluate and improve performance of the overall program.

Specialized Transportation Grant Program
Funds projects and programs that expand mobility options for seniors and individuals with disabilities. Funding for the STGP includes Transnet Senior Mini-Grant and FTA Section 5310.
Helps ensure future development contributes its proportional share of the funding needed to pay for the Regional Arterial System and related regional transportation facility improvements.
