The Social Services Transportation Advisory Council (SSTAC) is a SANDAG advisory group consisting of 21 members who represent social service agencies, individuals, transportation providers, and the Consolidated Transportation Services Agency. The mission of SSTAC is to review, recommend, and promote the development and use of accessible transportation services within the San Diego region.
SSTAC works to respond to federal and state requirements, as well as local concerns, regarding accessibility issues. Responsibilities include reviewing and providing guidance on federal funding programs for the elderly and disabled, coordination of vehicles for elderly and disabled persons, special studies, and providing input on the legal and practical requirements regarding accessibility at transit facilities.
Social Services Transportation Advisory Council Membership Opportunities
There are currently three positions available:
Individual Members
(1) At-large voting member who represents the interests of seniors, persons with limited means, or disabled transportation users
(1) Special interest alternate voting member who is disabled
(1) At-large alternate voting member who represents the interests of seniors, persons with limited means, or disabled transportation users
Agency Members
(1) Representative of social service providers for seniors
SSTAC Agency Membership Application – FY 20-21
Membership applications are due by Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at 8 a.m. The SSTAC meets bimonthly, and terms last three years.
